My tutoring journey began in the classroom.
In the fall of 2021, a sweet second grader walked into my classroom. Math and reading had been tough for her in previous years, and her mom was open to letting her stay after school for extra help. During those after-school sessions, we tackled tricky concepts together—and she made remarkable progress. Even more special, we built one of the most cherished relationships of my teaching career.

When she moved on to third and fourth grade at a new school, her mom noticed she was struggling with the more rigorous curriculum and reached out to ask if I’d be interested in tutoring. I’m so glad I said yes. Our tutoring sessions quickly became something I looked forward to each week. I loved the chance to work with her one-on-one again, tailoring each lesson to her needs, and continuing the relationship we had built.

That experience showed me something important: tutoring is all the best parts of teaching—it is focused, personal, and incredibly rewarding.
